Areas of Work
Belinda specialises in the fields of both media
and employment law. In her media law practice, she deals
with all aspects of non-contentious and compliance work
relating to television content and broadcasting. She
also advises on a wide variety of media law matters
including: defamation, contempt, copyright and breach
of confidence.
As part of her employment law specialisation she advises
on both contentious and noncontentious employment law
including: Unfair dismissal, discrimination, Transfer
of Undertakings, negotiating the termination of employment,
Working Time Regulations and Maternity Issues. She has
specific expertise in the field of the recruitment sector
in relation to the legislation which is particular to
that sector. She has provided many inhouse seminars
for her clients on topics of employment law.
Education
Belinda was educated at Leeds Girls’ High School
and then went on to read Law at Newnham College, Cambridge
(1985-1989). After attending Guildford College of Law,
she joined Goodman Derrick as an articled clerk in 1989.
She qualified as a solicitor in 1991, became a partner
in 2000 and then a Consultant in 2005.
