Areas of work
Clare has been practising contentious and non-contentious
employment law since qualification. Her particular areas
of practice include drafting contracts of employment,
policies and other employment documents, advising in
relation to all aspects of the employment relationship
from recruitment to termination of employment, including
redundancies, procedures and compromise agreements.
She is often involved in assisting on the employment
aspects of corporate transactions. She has knowledge
of the law relating to regulation of the recruitment
industry and experience of drafting terms of business
for clients and terms of engagement for candidates.
Her clients are mainly UK based employers but she has
also represented individuals in claims in the employment
tribunal relating to termination of employment and discrimination.
Education
Clare went to Prior’s Field School and Charterhouse
School, Surrey and then to the University of Manchester
where she obtained a BA (Hons). in English. She went
on to work as a Human Resources Assistant and then Human
Resources Manager for a Recruitment Agency for 3 years
before attending the College of Law to complete her
Post Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course.
After a training contract at Goodman Derrick she qualified
in 2003 into the Employment Department.
