Education
Ellen read music at the University of Wales, Bangor and obtained Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees.  She studied law whilst in full-time employment and received the Graduate Diploma in Law from De Montfort Law School and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London. 

Career History
Following university, Ellen worked in the classical music industry and was a senior manager in a major arts organisation for six years. As well as managing a large department and budget, Ellen negotiated with trades unions to obtain new collective agreements and dealt with many employment issues, including grievance and disciplinary procedures, redundancy and recruitment.  Ellen joined Goodman Derrick in 2009.
