Areas of work
Paul specialises in dealing with all aspects of landlord
and tenant law, residential and commercial; leasehold
enfranchisement; easements/restrictive covenants. Paul
acted for the successful appellants in BAKEWELL v BRANDWOOD
(House of lords 2004) concerning vehicular access over
common land and the acquisition of easements by prescription
and lost modern grant. Paul has contributed articles
to the Law Society’s Gazette, Landlord & Tenant
Review and other periodicals on property matters.
Education
Paul was educated at Durham University and qualified
as a solicitor in 1976. Paul was articled to Bill Binks
at Harold Stern and joined Radcliffes in 1976. Paul
resigned his partnership in 1992 to join Berger Oliver
where he was head of litigation until the merger with
Goodman Derrick in 2005.
