Areas of work
Tim specialises in contractual, property and partnership
disputes, professional negligence, directors’
disqualification applications and insolvency. Tim also
undertakes complex financial disputes in marriage breakdowns
for high net worth individuals. Tim has acted for the
appellant in Phillips v Brewin Dolphin Bell Lawrie and
Private Capital Group in House of Lords (insolvency).
Cases in the Court of Appeal have included Gadd v Gadd,
Watts v Morrow, Lloyds v Moran and Jonathan Alexander
Ltd v Proctor.
Education
Tim was educated at Haileybury, Hertford (1966 –
1970), Exeter University (1971 – 1974) and College
of Law, Lancaster Gate (1975 – 1976). Tim joined
Goodman Derrick as a trainee in 1976 and qualified as
a Solicitor in 1978. Tim has been a partner at Goodman
Derrick since 1982 and became Head of the Litigation
department in 1995.
