Clare Jeffries

Partner

Clare is a Chartered Tax Adviser as well as a solicitor and specialises in providing individual estate planning solutions to private clients. 

Her expertise in inheritance planning encompasses the provision of tax-efficient Wills, preparation of lifetime settlements and the administration of estates including estates with foreign assets. Clare can also advise about putting in place Lasting Powers of Attorney and making application to the Court of Protection.

Clare provides private client services to the clients of other City firms which do not have an in-house private client department.

She is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly, Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, Chartered Institute of Taxation and is a recommended adviser for Mencap.

Career

Clare joined Withers as a trainee Solicitor in 1987.  In 1989 Clare joined Asb-law where she qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1991 and became a Partner in 1994.

Clare joined Goodman Derrick as a Partner in 2005.

Out of the Office

Clare is married with two teenage daughters.  She attempts to counterbalance the effects of a sedentary job by running. She is area organiser for Contact the Elderly, which provides monthly tea parties, support and friendship for isolated elderly people.  She is governor of the Rutherford School for profoundly disabled children.  She is also a member of the Association of Inter-Church families and membership of a reading group encourages her to read a book each month!
