Goodman Derrick LLP helps Freeview get Connected

Goodman Derrick’s media team have recently acted in the arrangements bringing together the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Arqiva for the launch of Freeview’s Internet-connected TV service, provisionally known as Freeview Connect.  The participants are all shareholders in Digital UK, the vehicle for the new venture.  The parties have signed up to a five year plan to develop Freeview Connect which will offer viewers access to linear channels and on demand content including the shareholders’ catch up services.

Paul Herbert, Head of Media & Technology at Goodman Derrick, said:  “It was great to be working with these four key players in the development of their non-linear activities and we look forward to providing further support during this exciting project.”

Richard Knight, Commercial Director for Freeview Connect commented:  "Goodman Derrick  played a key role in bringing together the stakeholders in this exciting new phase of Freeview’s evolution.  Their stewardship throughout the agreement process helped to align all Parties behind this strategically critical Project.”
