Goodman Derrick's team of twenty complete LandAid's QuaranTEN event

Goodman Derrick’s remote workers didn’t let the lockdown stop them joining forces to walk, jog and run their way to raising £1761 for LandAid’s family of youth homelessness charities.

In normal times the GD Run Club would be seen taking on LandAid’s 10km in Regent’s Park, but with this year’s unique events the LandAid team set the QuaranTEN challenge: 10,000 steps, 10km or 10miles to be completed between 8th and 15th July. Goodman Derrick fielded a team of 20, who showed their colours through a mixture of photography, running apps, and old fashioned honesty.

Tristan Wark, Goodman Derrick’s LandAid lead commented:

“Although a few short months since the team were at the Kennington Oval for the LandAid SleepOut it feels like a different era. LandAid’s work has continued and given everything that has changed their work is more important now than it ever was. I’m proud of the GD Team for their fundraising and physical efforts and we look forward to continuing to help the team at LandAid achieve their long term goal to end youth homelessness.”

About LandAid and QuaraTEN

LandAid continues to work towards its long-term stated mission to end youth homelessness. Across the country thousands of young people still need a safe, secure and affordable place to live, and LandAid continues to work with the property industry and its charity partners across the country to create homes and opportunities that will put an end to youth homelessness.

The launch of QuaranTEN comes as LandAid thanks and celebrates with the industry for its remarkable response to the LandAid COVID-19 Emergency Fund.  The Emergency Fund remains open as the pandemic continues, and  all monies raised for the Emergency Fund will continue to go directly to ensuring that young homeless people and the charities that support them are able to weather this storm such as New Horizons Youth Centre and St Basils.
