Goodman Derrick Host Funding Network Evening - £34,000 Raised for Good Causes

The Funding Network’s January Funding Evening at Goodman Derrick’s offices raised over £34,000 for good causes.

Stephanie Brobbey, Solicitor at Goodman Derrick and a trustee of The Funding Network (TFN) commented:

“Last week’s event was truly inspiring. I was delighted to see over 100 TFN members and supporters at our offices for a brilliant evening of crowdfunding. The unique platform which TFN offers works fantastically well for small, dynamic charities looking to extend the reach of their work and I am pleased that we at Goodman Derrick were able to play a small part in that, together with the overwhelming generosity of TFN members and other valued supporters. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and gave their time to these amazing projects.”

Kate Marsh, Chief Executive of The Funding Network, commented:

“TFN is proud to serve as an incubator for small charities. We offer charitable projects a platform to engage with new audiences that often serve as a launch pad to leverage funder funding and support. However being a charity ourselves TFN can only continue to host such inspirational events thanks to the kindness of organisations like Goodman Derrick, who so generously gifted office space for last week’s event.”

The Funding Network is a charity which hosts live crowdfunding events for small charities facilitating social change. Pitching their projects were:

North London Cares - North London Cares hosts group activities for younger and older neighbours to socialise together across north London.

Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project - The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project is working on behalf of HIV/AIDS orphans in rural Uganda to end systemic deprivation, poverty, and hunger through a holistic approach to community development, education, and healthcare.

JAGS Foundation – The foundation aims to raise awareness of youth on youth violence by providing services and safe spaces, set up after the murder of James Andre Godfrey Smartt-Ford, who was tragically murdered inside Streatham ice rink in 2007.

CleanConscience – The organisation focuses on recycling hotel soap & toiletries, including hand soap, liquids and plastics - a first for the UK hospitality industry.
