Goodman Derrick to host Wales Week in London 2018 event
The casual dining crunch is biting hard, and some of the most familiar names on the high street are suffering. The list reads like a who’s who of noughties favourites - Carluccio’s, Byron, Jamie’s Italian, Strada and Prezzo. The regular bad news has given everyone in the sector cause for concern.
Commercial and economic pressure appears to be on all sides. But it is also true that dining trends are positive and people now eat out more often and for a wider range of occasions. So how can the small chains and independents win loyal customers and make a profit in the face of rising rents and wage costs, a workforce exposed to the risks of Brexit, and established competitors with the backing of private equity?
Goodman Derrick and Christie & Co clients will be convening on 7th June to discuss all of this and more. The group will hear from Simon Chaplin who heads up the Christie & Co Pub & Restaurant team (London) as well as from Ramzi Qattan, co-author of the influential ALMR Benchmarking Survey. James Daglish, lawyer to the sector and media commentator, will lead the discussion that follows.
