Two New Corporte Partners: Simon McLeod and Paul Webb

Goodman Derrick LLP is pleased to announce that Simon McLeod and Paul Webb have joined the firm as partners in our corporate department.

Simon McLeod joined the firm on 3rd November from Bird & Bird, where he was previously a partner.   Simon specialises in mainstream corporate and finance law, operating in the middle market on deals typically to £100m.  He works on private and public M&A, capital markets, joint ventures, private equity and finance and general commercial advice and particularly in the "renewables and energy" sector.  He is an adviser to a broad range of clients, including corporates, financial institutions and their directors. In particular, he has advised on flotations, fundraisings, public and private acquisitions and disposals, major joint ventures - often of an international nature, as well as general corporate governance and shareholder issues.

His clients are drawn from a wide range of business areas and he has most recently been involved in transactions concerning the chemicals, telecommunications, technology and pharmaceutical sectors.

Paul Webb joined the firm on 14 November from Taylor Wessing, where he had been a partner since 1997.  He has wide experience in representing corporate and individual clients in relation to commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations and equity fund raising. He acts for clients from a wide range of business sectors, but with a focus on the technology and cleantech sectors.

Paul has advised a large number of overseas companies on their European investment strategies, whether through acquisition, joint venture or greenfield set-up. He also advises investment funds, companies and management teams in relation to funding and other corporate transactions.

Paul is co-author of 'Investors’ Guide to the UK' (2nd edition 2005) published by Kogan Page.
