Chris Barkley

Senior Associate

Chris is an experienced commercial real estate lawyer who focusses on large investment acquisitions and disposals, development matters, and complex landlord and tenant transactions. 

Chris’s investment experience includes acting for institutional and private investors on acquiring and selling large scale industrial parks, office buildings and hotel sites.

Chris’s development experience includes due diligence and site assembly for developers and local authorities for large scale mixed use developments and more generally advising on option agreements, subject to planning contracts, and development agreements.

His landlord and tenant work includes acting for tenants on the flagship retail lettings in central London and acting for corporate occupiers on their property portfolios and related asset management.

Chris is committed to delivering excellent client service and is well known for his responsive and commercial approach.


Chris trained at McGrigors LLP and then spent 9 years at Pinsent Masons LLP before moving to Goodman Derrick in 2019.

Out of the office

Chris is a keen runner and regularly takes part in half marathons. He also loves to travel and has recently visited, Mexico, India and Colombia.
