Craig specialises in dispute resolution. He is experienced in a wide range of commercial disputes for corporate and individual clients including contractual and shareholder disputes, professional negligence, fraud and asset tracing and insolvency.
A substantial part of his practice involves contentious general property and landlord and tenant matters for clients including major property owning and managing companies.
Craig’s approach to dispute resolution is to understand from the outset the client’s objectives, the resources available, and then to roll up his sleeves and work closely with the client to achieve the best result.
Craig is a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association and the Property Litigation Association. He writes regular articles and has spoken at seminars for clients and property professionals. Craig is head of the firm's real estate dispute resolution team.
Craig is recommended in the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 editions of Legal 500.
Having qualified at Goodman Derrick in 1991, Craig in his early career acted for Granada Television’s World in Action investigative current affairs programme in defending a number of high profile libel claims. He has since been involved in a variety of substantial domestic and international disputes and investigations and significant cases include:
HSBC Ltd v 5th Avenue Partners Ltd - acting for international investors against a major bank in relation to a $50 million fraud involving issues as to duty of care and liability in constructive trust
Page v Combined Shipping and Trading Co. Ltd - acting in the first Court of Appeal case concerning the interpretation of the Commercial Agents Regulations
Nahum v Royal Holloway & Bedford New College - acting for a large charitable institution in relation to agency commission claims brought by a fine art dealer in connection with the purchase of 3 world renowned paintings
Representing a high profile UK based client in relation to a US investigation pursuant to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Advising on a variety of legal issues arising from the overthrow of the former Libyan regime.
Advising the freeholder on contentious landlord and tenant aspects of the Knightsbridge Estate.
