Edward has over 25 years' experience advising a broad range of corporate and private clients on company acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, private equity investments and general company law matters, as well as LLP and partnership formation, structuring and mergers.

Much of Edward’s work is corporate transactional across a broad range of business sectors, with a particular focus on the media, entertainment and publishing, and professional services sectors. He has worked on a number of high profile transactions, including acting for several significant media groups on a variety of corporate acquisitions, joint ventures and disposals.

Co-author of “Mergers and Acquisitions” (Kogan Page, 1st edition) and wrote the England and Wales chapter of “A Digest of Commercial Laws of the World” (Oxford University Press).


Educated at Malvern College, read Law at Reading University (1984 -1987) and attended Guildford College of Law (1987-1988). Qualified as a solicitor in 1990.


Joined Goodman Derrick in February 2012. Prior to that he had been a partner at Charles Russell LLP (2008 - 2012) and at Faegre & Benson LLP (formerly Hobson Audley in London) (1998 -2008).
