Lara Murrell


Lara specialises in the residential property sector and has a varied practice with expertise in both transactional and non transactional matters and is known for her focus on clients’ commercial and personal imperatives. Her clients include individuals, property companies and trusts.

Lara has significant experience of buying and selling leaseholds and freeholds of both houses and flats, including "lock out" or "exclusivity" agreements and the acquisition of new build properties. Her transactional works also incorporates re-mortgages and transfers of equity and the grant of new leases following redevelopment or conversion.

Lara is also part of our enfranchisement team here at Goodman Derrick and assists with the preparation, negotiation and completion of statutory lease extensions and collective enfranchisements. Outside of the statutory framework, Lara also regularly advises and assists both landlords and tenants of long leases with voluntary lease extensions.

Working closely alongside our Real Estate Dispute Resolution Team, Lara also advises on tenancy agreements and the statutory requirements surrounding these.

Lara is also regularly instructed to advise landlords and tenants on licences for alterations and licences to assign and has significant experience on all aspects of property management.


Lara joined Goodman Derrick as a trainee solicitor in 2012 and qualified into the Real Estate department in 2014.
