Licensing Law

We have many years’ experience advising on the ever moving target that is entertainment and liquor licensing law.

Our licensing law expertise also encompasses more specialist licensing areas, advising clients on the range of licences they need to conduct their leisure business, such as special treatment licences for the fitness and beauty sectors.

The vast majority of our clients are licence holders, ranging from large branded restaurant, pub and cafe chains through to sole traders.

Our goal is to minimise the burden of the sometimes bewildering maze of licensing law requirements to enable our clients simply to focus on running their licensed businesses.

James Daglish leads the team and he has been recommended for his licensing work by the two leading independent legal directories, Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, in which clients praised him for being able to "address the problems you're considering and give an objective view," and for "diligent, intelligent and strategically superb" performances.

Nick Campbell, CEO and founder of Simmons Bars, and a longstanding client of our licensing law team commented:

It is no exaggeration to say that Simmons wouldn’t be where it is now, without James and his team.
